Street PhotographyBedford Square. That was where it happened…I think…While I waited on the sidewalk, waiting for the perfect moment to jaywalk across the road, I accidentally made an eye contact with a chic young man.He had a head of lustrous long black hair. YM wore a drapey flannel shirt and layered it with a longline light-brown coat. Both of us looked surprised. I was stunned by his long hair. Not sure what he was thinking thoughThe next thing I remembered was him kneeling down on the pavement as he took out his large canon DSLR. He took photos of me as I walked across the road looking back at him with a face of horror. (BTW, We were only about 5 meters away from each other). He even switched to a longer lens as I walked farther away. And so I speed-walked. There goes my first experience with street photography. I never found out who he was, nor did I ever see my photos on random websites. Googled keywords: Long Hair, Asian, Photographer, Bedford Square. Returned 0 fits. Then I became a street photographer myself. Amateur of course. It always takes a lot of courage to ask for consent. And once the subjects realize that I am taking their photo, their camera consciousness took over what I initially wanted from them. I still need to learn how to be invisible. Photos captured during Hampden Fest 2016. ‘May I take a photo of you?’ Head nod. -- source link
