mushroomgay:Epping forest, London, UK, October 2020Amethyst deceiver (Laccaria amethystina)These gorgeous little purple fungi are easy to spot on the forest floor, though as they age they will fade to a tan colour, similar to their close relative, the deceiver (Laccaria laccata), which they were once considered to be the same species as. They’re edible, and an easy one to identify, though unfortunately are quite bland and a little tough. Still, they brighten up a dish wonderfully - especially salads - and hold up well in mixed-mushroom meals. -- source link
