Finally got to play Melany again last friday since the very beginning of the pandemic (literally, we last played that campaign the day announcements about upcoming precautions were given that evening in my country)! Anyways! Last session was a blast~ We met this half-drow lady, named Alex. She’s the first half-drow Melany has met, and I’m very excited about them interacting more!We had gotten to the edge of the Underdark on a basilisk hunt, and long story short, we found a peaceful, idyllic, little settlement that was one big illusion that Alex had been living in, thinking it was real. While there, she looked mostly human, but had slightly elven features, like her ears being a bit pointy and her irises being almost white, and then her hair was also completely white, which… isn’t elven in itself, but she was clearly not old. She looked like this because she resents her drow heritage and wished it gone, but that was also an illusion and she now looks clearly half-drow again.As soon as we entered the settlement, Alex was staring suspiciously at Melany, which, she’s used to and expects to be met with. It was however a little strange that in a settlement that seemed to be mostly (snow) elves, the only “human” was the one greeting her with hostile looks. That, mixed with completely white hair made me think she might have a bit of drow in her, which was confirmed very quickly when the party split to explore the settlement and Melany was the only one to stay behind. Alex immediately zipped over to Melany who could now see her slightly elven traits, making her look like she was maybe an 1/8th drow or something. She introduced herself to Melany as a half-drow who “had my evil purged and you should do the same!” Melany: “O_O Uuhhh… no thanks, I’m good.”A settlement leader helped explain that that was not what Melany was needing… But yeah, now the illusion’s gone, Alex had nowhere to go, and Melany asked her to come with if she wanted, and I’m just very excited to hopefully befriend her~ -- source link
