dukeofbookingham: Almost two years ago I told you all that a book I wrote was getting published. Now the secret’s out, and the release date is less than three months away! So save the date of April 11, 2017 for If We Were Villains. I’m so, so excited to share this with you guys after so many of you have been on this journey with me–all the way from ugly first draft to a space on the shelf at your local bookstore. You already have my gratitude. But publishing is equal parts exciting and scary, so I hope you’ll help me out in the crazy days ahead. If you feel so inclined, here are a bunch of things you can do that I would appreciate forever:Learn a little more about the book over on my author blog, and follow it if you want to keep getting updates, because that’s where I’ll be sharing Villains-related news and taking any questions you might have about it. And I’m ready, so ask away! You’ll notice that blog I just sent you to also has a social media page. Feel free to follow me, if you want to see pictures and hear tidbits from the publishing process (as well as random stuff about my new dog, my record collection, my bookshelves, and so on). Please talk it up! Publishing relies on traditional marketing and publicity but also word of mouth, and if you guys are excited about this book, other people will get excited, too. The more people who get excited about this book, the better chance it has. So please share posts, add the book on Goodreads, tell your friends. Every little bit helps. (And keep an eye out for upcoming giveaways, because we’ll be doing those, too.)Lastly but not leastly, you can already pre-order the book!Yes, this is a shameless plug. But you know me. I have no shame. Buy from any of the following retailers and have it on your doorstep the day it comes out:Barnes & NobleBooks-A-MillionIndieboundAmazon(If you want to know about foreign rights/foreign language publication, you can find that info here.)You all have been so patient and so supportive, and I hope this book is everything you hoped it would be, because that’s really all I can offer in exchange. But believe it or not, I have one last favor to ask you: Please continue to be as cool as you have always been. Letting go of my anonymity on Tumblr is a big step for me and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous. You guys have been so wonderful for so long, and I’d hate for anything to spoil the great experience that booklr has been. To that effect, I’m instituting a degree of separation. Duke of Bookingham will continue to run as normal! If you want to talk about reading, writing, being an English major, etc., Dukesie’s inbox is always open. However, if you have specific questions about If We Were Villains, Flatiron, or anything else directly related to me-as-author, please direct those to the author blog. I promise, they will get just as much attention. (If you’re confused about where to send a question, message me off anon and I’ll let you know.)That’s all for now! It’s been a crazy couple of years with you guys, and I can’t wait to have a crazy few more. Xx Dukesie -- source link
