usernameosmium: Frito-Lay has developed a high surface area salt, which eliminates some of the bulk salt you swallow but don’t taste because it doesn’t dissolve while in your mouth. This is a way to reduce the salt content in food (by 20%) but have it taste the same. For some reason I’ve been fascinated by this for a while, and the patent was granted last month.
