thirteen-stories:Penelope Grace and the Hunt for Infinity||The CurseThe grip of her sword felt just right and her mind focused on one thing. Fire in her blood, her heart was full ofrage as she attacked. But the pirate didn’t flinch. Before Penelopecould react, the witch appeared in front of her with its arms raised, bring them down with a sharp motion, and hit Penelope with a barb in her neck. Grunts of pain also came besides her and the other captains held on to the area that was hit on their own bodies. Voices spoke, but not the pirate in front of her, northe captains to her side, but voices familiar, voices unknown. They echoed deepinto her, vibrations throughout her body. Her vision grew blurry, she foughtback the tears. The words the witch spoke was not a language Penelope couldunderstand, but she knew what it was saying perfectly. “Hearts of stars, vain, and coldSingle souls join as chainsThis is the spell that I weaveDespite what you might believeYour souls are no longer thineOnce you die they’ll be mine”Fire that had turned to embers became flamesonce again. Ready to attack, Penelope sought the pirate not caring what theconsequence would be. But as soon as she pulled the pistol, ready and charged, the pirate aimed not at her, but to Captain Smith.“Shoot and I’ll kill him.” She said, armunwavering.“Why should I care?” Penelope sneered. Her finger touched thetrigger.“So I have three idiots then. Did younot hear?” The pirate laughed at Penelope’s confusion. She had been sooverwhelmed with the sensation of being poisoned she hadn’t fully taken in whatit meant. It dawned on her slowly, showing all over her face, only making the pirate smirk.“If he dies, you die.” tag list:@quilloftheclouds @hwrfta @ditzysworld @waterfallwritings@celestialbunnistories @books-of-lunacy @serenewrites @elizabethsyson -- source link
