fallout-lou-begas: You’ve made your last delivery, kid. Sorry you got twisted up in this scene. From where you’re kneeling it must seem like an 18-carat run of bad luck. Truth is…the game was rigged from the start. If you think this is ridiculous, try reading the many things surrounding this religion1a) It is thought that Yahweh was part of a Pantheon and Yahweh was the God of metallurgy 1b) Hell was a real place, supposedly the lake of fire was a real destination in the Middle East1c)In lore, to purify the soul, fire is needed–to purify gold, the same is said.1a+b+c) Lake of Fire draws connection to a place in Hell. Where the land is constantly burning… when you set sulfur on fire, it burns for a long time. So perhaps when you conjoin all 3 points: Your god being a god of metallurgy connects to your soul being purified the same way gold is purified w/ fire & sulfur. Also I recall that they used to send people to be tortured in this region… There’s also the old belief that the soul was breath. God breathed into Adam, a man made of earth/dirt, and when the breath filled his lungs, Adam sprung to life. This idea parallels with ancient Middle East “clay magic” that you could create mindless golems w/ clay and you bring them to life with breath. How weird is it that many religions and rituals parallel with stuff that was written in what we now consider the Bible? Look at the story of Enki and Ninti…look at what Ninti relates to. Look at the 7 days parallel & 7 generations to create the universe. Look at the few flood myths. [recall that one of the stories was just a flood between the two rivers and it was started by evil gods. A man was told ahead of time by good gods to build a large ark and save what he could] In the New Testament, Look at ancient sacrifice ritual of sacrificing a literal lamb–then see the parallel with the story of Jesus who was described as a lamb. I have heard hypotheses that there’s no first-hand testimony of Jesus ever existing or at least connecting to a resurrection story and its possible that the entirety was a fever dream thought up by the initial writers of the New Testament. Mind you this all is something but not quite as preposterous as Revelations. It’s one thing to come up with lore for the past but to also create lore that is supposedly in the future where a dude reigns supreme for a thousand years… There is just a lot to take in once you start reading the lore and begin to think that The Bible is just fanfiction of older lore and/or it’s just “inspired by what was thought as a true story”. The connections and the sort have not yet been woven together and a lot of this stuff may be misinterpretations and the sort but I say it’s as good as a proposition as any. -- source link
