auxiliofaux:Constructivism & Dialogue #3Kodak 35mm 400Arista C-41 color process©2013auxiliofauxhad been kicking around the simple double exposure trick for quite some time, trying hard to understand the basic threshold of light unto the emulsion of film. this blog had gone through hundreds of double exposures of things that either made sense or didn’t. took a while and many embarrassments after to finally learn the developing and exposure techniques behind it all. I guess once the technique was all figured out, I was finally allowed to work on simple ideas that someone could actually consider “art”. Long ago, having been inspired by Brakhage, with his painting on film negatives… this double exposure had been dealt with the same idea of Stan’s simple touch of the negative by taking his queue and manipulating the 35mm exposure with dried stabilizer run off. it added so much at the time. The image; this spewing dust cloud venting out of what appears to be a crushed apartment complex. telephone and fiber optic cables pulling as if with tension. it seemed to work well. i liked it. it was a neat capture and I was actually happy with it. To top it off, the sunset had created the perfect hue, a delicious hue. -- source link
