dxmedstudent: A day in the life of a junior doctor. Shared by a junior doctor on Facebook, whose identity I’ll keep private as per usual. The day they describe isn’t a one-off or a worst case scenario, it’s pretty common to have this level of , this kind of experience is common. And it’s this constant struggle that grinds us down; the feeling that we are struggling to provide adequate care in the face of underfunding and systems which don’t prioritise properly. We chose these jobs because we want to do good, and work to the best of our ability, so being severely pressurised and limited to the point where we can’t is very distressing. This is real; my close doctor friends were saying something very similar to me just the other day. And worst of all, the blame displaced onto you and your colleagues by the media and those who just don’t know how the system works. It’s disheartening to feel blamed and judged for the shortfalls in our system, which have been engineered by politicians, not hospital staff. -- source link
