I saw this girl once. Well, I saw her a lot more than once, but that’s not the point of the story…You see one night over at her place, she went into the living room to turn on some soft music with a slow sexy groove, like Leon Bridges, while I stopped in the kitchen to mix a couple Martini’s. Hers had three olives, mine two. Not sure why it really mattered, but those details are important to her.Walking into the living room, there she was laying on the couch, back hugging the arm rest. Her legs arched with the shoes kicked off on the floor beside the middle seat as I made my way to the open seat at her feat.Setting the concoction I had composed at the table next to her she continued flipping through the pages of some Hollywood gossip rag. You know the kind, reports all the latest rumors of who’s cheatin’ on whom and other latest celebrity news, like any of us really care.Taking a drink of the elixir, I set my glass upon the table as I sat down next to her. Reaching into a little drawer on the coffee table I pulled out a small bottle of honey and vanilla lotion she kept stashed for emergency situations. I quickly swallowed another sip before sinking back into the cushions, I pulled her feet across my lap and removed the puffy white cotton socks that were partly folded over at the top.Putting a small bit of lotion in the palm of my hand I rubbed it around to warm the cool moisturizer so as to not shock her soft skin as I began to rub the instep of her left foot. While making small gentle circles under the arches of her feet with my thumbs and fingers, she reaches over and takes a drink from her modernly styled glass; her eyes never leaving the magazine. As we swam away on the smooth notes of style that wrapped our bodies like the warm water of a jacuzzi, she casually spoke, “You know, I was looking for someone more stable and secure. Like my father”, she said nonchalantly.Still focusing on her feet, a slight grin slipped from the side of my mouth and I responded, “That’s O.K. honey. I was looking for someone younger and with smaller feet”. A “Hmmm” escaped her lips as she flipped the page. From the cue of her silence I pulled her foot slowly up towards my lips and kissed the top half just above the ankle before continuing. “It’s O.K. though because that’s what love does. It makes exceptions for perfection. But, if you’re not happy I could drive you by the retirement homes this weekend”. She smiled a bit back into her magazine, biting down on her lower lip and without missing a beat she said “No. I can drive myself. Thank you. Would you like me to drop you by the elementary school on my way?”. I sat in flabbergasted ecstasy at how easily the words of love rolled off her tongue, thinking to myself ‘I’m gonna marry this girl some day’.Some of you maybe wondering whatever happened to that girl. Well, I can’t say for certain, but as for me, life ain’t over yet. And I’m sure she’s out there somewhere, maybe enjoying a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch… -- source link
