My muscles convulsed unnaturally; painfully, as though living was a debt to be paid in bodily torment like never before.The noise too. My ears had become dull; drums stretched too tight for everyday sounds but sensitive enough for the anguished cries and wailing sirens. My milky eyes left the world washed in grey water, they made my surroundings into indistinguishable flood plains.And despite doing nothing but laying prone, I was roughly handled. Large gloved hands grabbed my already tender body as though I was a wild animal backing the human race into a corner, as though I posed an unthinkable threat. And when I was carried away, my loose shoes fell away causing my toes and arches to drag through wet grass and thistles.I was deemed an abomination. And in my confinement, in my cell, it seemed this loophole was a new destiny my strange hulking body was born again to fulfill. I felt their fear of me keenly, I felt it like spears in my side and nails in my mind, they needed a creature to pour their hate into in order to distract themselves from their own lack of humanity. On the unforgivingly cold tiles of my prison I mined myself for an answer, I looked inward and stared at the blackness that had formed in the wake of my transformation and subsequent rebuke. This is where their taunts saturated me, permeated me like a sponge that cannot be wrung out.
