azuremessenger: azuremessenger: Burn your local radical feminist witch today! :3 This is starting to go around again in Terf circles so I want to reblog this and clarify my intentions with this piece. This is a piece that is a direct response to a picture a Terf drew of a witch boiling members of the trans community alive.I’m going to make this clear up front, I don’t actually support burning people. Nor is my piece satire. I wanted to evoke an emotional response. I wanted you guys to hate it. I also, was, well, hoping you had some human decency to hate the other image too. But I knew you would be ok with one, but not the other and I wanted to show that.I wanted to point out how members of the Terf community were ok with an artist depicting trans people being killed, but drew a line at another artist depicting their community being killed. I wanted to show how you guys are hypocrites, and this picture proved that in more ways than one. More on this later. ((And before you guys insist that anti-terfs can be violent and cross a line, I know, and I agree. I’m not defending any sort of violence.))Terfs who responded to this piece tried to explain why one piece was ok and the other wasn’t, and it boiled down to “the original is satire.” Satire requires the use of humor or irony to criticize someone’s vices or stupidy. The argument being, they don’t actually want to kill trans people, yet the trans community believes the terf community is out for their blood. This argument falls flat once you realize that Terfs have historically been violent towards the trans community. This argument falls flat once you realize Terfs have published books full of lies to turn society against the trans community. This argument falls flat once you realize terfs campaign for less rights and discrimination laws towards the trans community. Violence isn’t always with a bat, sometimes it’s slow and through the use of politics. With this dose of reality, what you’re left with is terfs claiming that the original image of boiling people alive is ok because it’s funny. Since really, the original image isn’t exaggerating much, Terfs have and will continue to systematically target the trans community. Defending a violent image like that, but drawing a line at mine is hypocrisy.Speaking of the hypocrisy, I noticed another instance of hypocrisy that came up multiple times when I had to slug through the terf responses to this. I have been called a man, so so so many times from your community in response to this. Not that it matters, but I’m a cis lesbian. Even after I pointed this out, your community insisted that I was a male. When I uploaded a picture of myself to prove it, you guys defended calling me male. While, somehow, arguing I hated women. What, is sexism ok suddenly when you do it? This post was made to show you guys are hypocrites, and I think this post proved that. So. Thanks.Any further responses will be ignored, I got better things to do. -- source link
