adisneysoul: Nine Old Men Ward Kimball: 1914-2002. Walt Disney called Kimball a genius…….he had a great comedic instinct, a talent for creating unique characterisation and a broad imagination. He worked on 2 scenes from Snow White, and was immensely disappointed when his hard work ending up on the cutting room floor. However, he met his wife while working on the film…so it wasn’t all bad! But it did take words from Walt Disney to persuade Ward to not leave the studio. He did most of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, The Mad Hatter and the March Hare, and some of The Cheshire Cat for Alice in Wonderland. His work includes Jiminy Cricket, Dumbo’s Crows, Cinderella’s mice and Lucifer, Baccus from Fantasia, and Pecos Bill. He also played the trombon and founded the Firehouse Five Plus Two band, and made several LPs and toured venues. In his last years with Disney, tension arose between him and the studio and he retired in 1973. But on the happy side, his relationship with the studio improved with time. -- source link
