The best way to study even if you can’t bring a cheat sheet is to make a cheat sheet and write everything you would write on one if you could have one. It’s an awesome method! ‘but what you’re doing here is studying. its still studying, that exact thing you didnt want to do before…?’ ‘yeah but see this is powered by hubris and spite, so like… it’s better’ Also like… in real life… you get… to make cheat sheets. I have a cheat sheet of all the names and phone numbers I call on a regular basis. I have a cheat sheet that’s our state’s law on bail/bonds broken out into bits and setting out when the burden of proof changes and why. I wrote a whole packet of cheat sheets on How To Do Stuff in our office, our local courts, and under state law, and I sent it out to the office just cause I thought some people might like it, and now wherever I go I see my cheat sheets tacked to other people’s bulletin boards in their offices. Even in the middle of trials I’ll whip out my document on juvenile collateral consequences for adjudication of delinquency. Memorizing info to regurgitate it is not a life skill. Good, efficient cheat sheets are absolutely a life skill. like 80% of my hearing prep is crafting the perfect cheat sheet. -- source link
