Track of the Cat (William A. Wellman, 1954)Snow western. People and their clothes fading into landscape, standing defiant against it, guided home along it, or never stepping out into it. Homesteading family, isolated, splintered, all with some stubborn or acquiescent reason to cling to a mountain where nothing should belong. Except for that cat. It’s funny seeing a Robert Mitchum movie where he isn’t the most compelling character. -- source link
