SECRET BODIES OF WORKWith the new year upon us, chockful of promise & aspirations, I can’t help thinking how oppressive structures of violence, bigotry & greed continually rob us of our creative energies… How every pastime/pursuit must be leveraged into some kind of side hustle, every minute of every day squeezed & accounted for for the sake of max productivity. As a consequence, any & everything that could be construed as “off-brand” falls into neglect, or remains secret.No secrecy in Art, ye olde visionary bastard William Blake wrote. It makes sense then that the tech industry, which prides itself on the patina of creativity (or rather “creative solutions”), would be rife with proprietary gag orders & restrictions. Things being what they are, it’s freaking weird never being able to reveal to anyone what I’m working on, who I’m working for, or what the hell is even happening in the increasingly opaque domains of algorithms & AI.In any case — for some time now I’ve been distilling dreams (my nocturnal brain natterings have somehow taken place in strangely coherent short story formats) and the unbelievably wild shit I see & hear in Silicon Valley circles into speculative fiction works. Resemblance to persons living or dead entirely coincidental, of course…I know most of you are here for the visuals, so I’ll cut this short. But for any of you interested in my short stories, comics & sequential art, and AI character/entity design,  I’ll be posting drafts on my Celestial Mechanic Patreon tier.
