doomsneigh:doomsneigh:I disagree with Tyler Durden and Alex Delarge being on this because both of them come from movies based on books where they completely changed the ending in a way that completely erodes the point of the book. In the book Fight Club, Tyler Durden ends up being completely full of shit in the end and all the bombs are fake. But the movie changes it so the cult succeeds in destroying all the banks, which completely destroys the entire point of the book. In a Clockwork Orange movie. it ends on Alex getting cured from the Ludovico Treatment and getting to go back to happily being a violent rapist, but in the book it ends with Alex allowing himself to actually be held accountable for his past actions and chooses to work towards being a better person. If anything, the dudes who made these movies idolized Tyler and Alex in ways that the original author of the books didn’t intend. They’re both bad movies and people misinterpret the characters because they changed the endings and the characters to appeal to shitty men. -- source link
