mudphudkangaroo:thatpettyblackgirl:Lets not forget that he survived the shooting and was later suffocated in his hospital bed.I recently worked with an elderly Jewish lady in outpatient. She lived in Belgium around the time of world war II and didn’t get out of Europe in time, and her entire family ended up in a concentration camp. When she talked about it to us, she always described it as “they took my father, and my brothers, and my mother, and they MURDERED them”. I’ve never heard of the holocaust described that way before, not even by a survivor. The way she described it made it so, so, so vivid. And it was my first reminder that words and voices have power. So so so much power. So no, MLK didn’t die for anything. He was murdered. he was assassinated. because he was a radical leftist and a man of color during a time of segregation, and he had too much power and political swign for the government’s liking. -- source link
