This is the man who had spent his whole life fighting for his country and his people, and in one moment of weakness, when he thought he had the greatest single opportunity to thwart the enemy, he broke: he tried to take the ring.But immediately thereafter, he realised how wrong he was. EVEN ISILDUR NEVER DID THAT. Boromir gave his life to save the Hobbits. Boromir swore fealty to Aragorn with his dying breath. Boromir realised that Gondor was not his to protect anymore, and for the first time in his fricking life, he’d found someone worthy to protect it in the shape of the true King.Anyone who says Boromir is bad or weak just needs to take one look at Isildur. He broke within a day of contact of the ring. Boromir lasted months, even after being trolled by Galadriel who highlighted his own insecurities, and it was only when he thought the chance to save his people was about to slip through his fingers that he screwed up.
