abbycatsuk: What Make-up Do You Use? - AbbyCatsUK One question I often get asked is what make-up products I use, especially which foundation. My first thought always is, well you probably are already using a good foundation. Now, while some products are better than others, I don’t think you need to spend a lot of money on make-up to get good results. Case in point are the above two photos, there is very little difference in the products used in the two photos above, yet the difference in look is dramatic. I think the only significant difference in products is I am using a heavy duty base foundation in later photo. Even the basic make-up routine formula orange concealer, liquid foundation, powder, bronzer and highlighter for contour and a bit of blusher are the same. So what I am trying to get at, well my point is you probably already have all you need to put together if not an amazing look, at least a good one. If you are struggling then what you probably need to work on is your routine and technique. That is going to take a lot of practice and a lot of experimentation too. For me I think experimentation is key, especially in the early days, every time I did my make-up I would try something different. That might be something I had read or seen in a tutorial or something I come up with myself. Things like applying a little translucent powder after my primer helped reduce the oiliness of my skin, or letting my foundation dry for 10-15 before applying powder, have made a world of difference. Now this experimentation does result in an awful lot of fails and if you don’t have opportunity to practice much it might be something you want to avoid. However, I think in the long run it’s worth putting the time in, to try something new and you might be pleased with the results. tl;dr: don’t worry about spending a lot of money on make-up, you probably have all you need. Maybe try changing up your routine if you feel you’re going nowhere with your look.
