Looking a little like wands out of Harry Potter movies, these odd tools are called ‘Nostepinne’ and are used to make ‘center-pull’ yarn balls and skeins. About 11 inches long; purchased for a very reasonable price off of eBay. Anyone that does woodworking on a lathe should be able to make one quickly. A very handy little tool for yarn workers.
