Agent Provocateur ‘Robyn’ Bra and Brief. Robyn was probably the most wanted and purchased style of the last AP collection. A bra that follows in the tradition of ultra-successful AP styles like Jet, Annoushka and Whitney, in that the main feature is a decorative chest detail. Pretty on it’s own or peeking out from beneath blouses and dresses, Robyn is the perfect modern update on the classic black lingerie set. A mixture of high quality black silk with delicate, scalloped-edge French leavers lace. Said lace lays beneath the silk, peeping through keyhole cut-outs and between straps that meet knotted in the centre of the decollatage. Overall, it gives me the impression of the sort of shell motif frequently seen in art-deco design. This sort of feature divides AP fans, with sizing being the issue. If it fits correctly then it’s wonderful, if not, due to various cup and body size issues, one can be left with a multitude of gaping or stretched straps in need of adjustment. I’m lucky it fit me perfectly, but that is part of the reason why I am such a loyal fan of AP. I purchased the brief, though I actually wanted the highwaisted ouvert (sold out). It’s simple, comfortable and echoes the bra’s chest detail. It is, however, sized extremely small and for the first time I sized up to an AP 3. I do wish Robyn had a suspender, but for a 2-piece it is exceptionally beautiful, functional, comfortable and high-quality as per nearly all my AP purchases. This is the reason why they rules the luxury lingerie market.
