**!!NON-COSPLAY POST INCOMING!!** Most of you may not know this, but I’m a type 1 diabetic (You know, the genetic kind), and was diagnosed on September 21st, 1995. It’s been 23 years since I was diagnosed with this disease. If you’ve ever met me in person, you know I’m very open, and if anyone ever asks about it, I’m always willing to share. Heck, it’s one of the main reasons I’m going to medical school! You see, I’m a diabetic with an insulin pump. I often joke that it’s my “cyborg parts” (as in its technology taking the place of an organ to keep me alive, which it does) and I normally have it hidden under my clothes. My reasoning for bringing this up here is not only because it’s a big part of my life (it’s mean, it is my entire life as I know it haha) but it’s November, which is Diabetes awareness month! These numbers represent an approximation of what I’ve had to go through in these past 23 years of life. If you have any questions about Diabetes, don’t hesitate to ask! And if you want, you can go to JDRF.org to make a donation to find a cure! Also, if you take a photo of yourself wearing blue and #diabetesawarenessmonth, tag me in it! I’m gonna try to make a collage of support! https://www.instagram.com/p/BpsdFL6DuTJ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=eeq05xjgfeoa -- source link
