Thank you for those that bought @noircaesar’s XOGENASYS and are currently reading it. Figured I’d show you guys what some of the pages look like now that everything’s been printed. The entire book is about 301+ pages. Can’t show the whole book because I don’t want to spoil the ending. Took a long time to get right, but I’m happy that the story is resonating with people. Drawing manga is not easy. It’s not just “drawing cool pin ups”. There are certain beats you gotta hit and you really gotta think about what you’re drawing on the page and what’s the most effective way to get the story across. You have to mature. It’s a humbling process for sure. It will definitely test you and tell you about yourself. There were times where I wanted to quit. A lot of personal struggles that I had to overcome while drawing this. So when I look at this book, I see it a bit differently than others might. For me, I was fighting just as Darius was. I couldn’t stand Darius in the beginning, but the more I worked on it, the more pain I put on him and the more I invested in the story, the more he grew on me. My job as the artist and co-writer was to bring as much life and depth to it as possible and to bring out the best in Johnny’s (@jobryant3 )vision.
