fuckyeahhistorycrushes:I always loved this picture. This is Kazys Binkis, (1893–1942) a Lithuanian poet, journalist, and playwright. I know him mostly as a poet.He was a founder of the Lithuanian modernist/futurist movement Four Winds, which, according to wiki: “did not leave great literary works but broke the routine, brought new literary forms, and this way made a big impact on Lithuanian poetry”. I remember him for his humorous and satirical poems, full of youthful playfulness, irony, often mocking of the old generations. My favourite poem of his is written in a half-gibberish language.Bonus points: During the Nazi occupation he hid Lithuanian Jews in his home. -- source link
