Honey Birdette ‘Veruka’ Brief Suspender Set and Cuban Heel Stockings.The definition of ‘not-so-basic-black’ Veruka is something I haven’t come across in lingerie yet- military inspired. The bra has a lot of padding, so be prepared for ultra lift and cleavage. Which is probably just as well because you are going to want to show of the neckline, which has a detachable collar, meaning it can function as a regular bra or as deliberately visible statement piece (if going for the latter, I recommend beneath a black pencil dress, a white or black collared shirt or a deep-v plunging black top, as suggestions). The wide shoulder straps make it far more comfortable than thinner strapped bras as there is less opportunity to ‘dig in’. The hot pant brief is a cheeky/brazilian cut, which I’m usually not a fan of, but this is cut just-so and actually STAYS in place (!- the fact most don’t is why I don’t usually like them). Paired with the suspender, the brief is actually awesome. The two garments, where they sit on the body and the fabrics, a thick black satin and a powermesh, act like shapewear, giving an amazing smoothing and subtley waist-cinching effect. I fully intend to wear this even without the bra for this reason. My favorite aspect of this style however is the details- the gold military buttons and strong, sturdy gold clips, clasps and adjustors.
