daynaan-black-dawn:paialovespie:egmon73:mottlemoth:mottlemoth:letmecomealong:Rupert Graves: Single Father 1.03 (2)I’ve never seen this show. I’m going to assume Rupert Graves and David Tennant are struggling single dads who join forces to raise their kids - childminding, etc, pooling their time and their resources - then accidentally fall for each other. After eight hour-long episodes of pining and nervous navigation of feelings, they end up together forever with a proper family home. The last episode is set at Christmas. The kids, who have worked this whole time to make the two of them ‘fess up, finally get a puppy. It’s a heartwarming tale about healing, the courage to find love again, and the true meaning of family. They cuddle in the kitchen as credits roll, listening to their kids all playing with the puppy in the lounge.Nobody @ me with corrections. It’s 2020, just let me have this.Oh and there’s a whole plot line where David Tennant’s unfaithful ex-partner leaves the guy she left him for, wants to move back to the UK and repair things with David. But Rupert Graves convinces him not to go back down that road. It’ll only hurt the kids when she leaves again. She’s not going to give them the stability they need.“And anyway,” Rupert Graves says, glancing awkwardly down between them. “You deserve better than that.”David Tennant searches his face. “Do I?”“Yeah. You… you should be with someone who treats you like you’re the world. Not something to toss away and pick up again whenever they like.”And David Tennant swallows, falling into a soft-toned flashback of the previous five episodes - all the things Rupert has done for him and the kids. All the times Rupert has sat with him after the kids are in bed, consoling him, letting him talk and get the tears out. That wonderful day at the zoo.And the subtitles say [revelatory music] as he stares into Rupert Graves’s eyes, unbreathing.Ahem @mottlemoth do you really have to stop? ❤️❤️❤️I’m really enjoying this sneak peek of your next book. My dear @mottlemoth … you cannot just give us these small bits of the story. We need the whole story of pining, unconfessed and breathtaking love until the amazing and perfect happy ending. Goodness. I wish I could watch most of the stuff Rupert is in!!! I can’t find it anywhere… Especially his older works.. -- source link
