Today my friend Snow introduced me to two taiwanese artists: Zito Hsu, and Chiao. We also visited Chiao’s studio! It was very exciting not only because we got to see a foreign artist’s space but also I found out that Chiao’s work is highly inspired by Taiwanese monsters and magical beings! This topic has been my interest for the past three years but so far I’ve been focusing on Slavic folklore beings and Japanese Yokai. Its super cool to find someone who can teach me a bit about Taiwanese spirits and monsters! We agreed to collaborate on a project about it, so hopefully after we’re back from Asia, I will have some time to start working on it. -- source link
