“I’m a Cajun in Louisiana so I love that we sort of have a connection with the Grimaldis, as a native of New Orleans married into their family. But I’m also sort of annoyed when people say she’s “from” New Orleans. She was born and baptized there, but she spent a lifetime in Paris. I think Alice Heine is much more Parisian than Louisiana or even Cajun or “from New Orleans.” I doubt she knew much about New Orleans from personal experience.
