bicentaur: bicentaur: Hello! My name is Alexander, and I’m a transgender male from Indianapolis, Indiana. I began transitioning officially in spring/summer 2013, and came across a startling discovery: due to my large chest size, binding my chest is not only difficult but, in the long and short term both, very dangerous. I have intense stabbing chest pain (especially when coughing or sneezing or even laughing), difficulty breathing, chest pain when not binding due to the heavy weight on it, frequent headaches, and perpetual fatigue that make it very hard to live in everyday life. In the long term, binding as tightly as I need to with as big a chest as mine can cause my muscles and ribs to actually deform from their natural state, pressing them up against my lungs and putting me at extra risk for things like puncturing a lung. Ordinarily to avoid these problems, one would bind more loosely, but that’s simply not an option for me due to dysphoria and needing to be able to pass. I am currently 17 years old, and while I’m saving as much as I can from my part time job (I’m in high school), I fear that it will be medically necessary for me to undergo chest reconstructive surgery before I’ll be able to save up enough money for it. I’m planning, if I can raise the money, to schedule surgery for the summer of my 18th birthday- 2015. My current plan is to stay with a relative in Florida, and schedule surgery with Dr. Charles Garramone, a specialist in the kind of surgery I need. I am currently undergoing testosterone therapy as well, which will give me about a year on testosterone by the time surgery time rolls around. Due to dysphoria and living full time as a man, I have no real other option than to get this surgery as expediently as possible for the sake of my health, both mental and physical, and it would mean a great deal to me if you could donate even a little to help with that. You can find my gofundme page HERE, and soon I will update it with reward tiers, so stay tuned for that. Please signal boost or donate if you can, this is really starting to scare me and I’m afraid of what will happen if I can’t get top surgery soon. update: added a new reward tier for baked goods and sweets! -- source link
