dollsahoy: trashtroboy:peppermintcrack:meow-the-betelgeusian:superluminalflower:How the fuck is Sour Cream DJing with three GameboysFaithThere’s actually a whole musical genre that includes Game Boys called Game Boy Music, or Chiptunes which is the umbrella term for music made from chip sets. You basically just need a Game Boy (any kind will work), a cartridge with proper software (such as Nanoloop, Little Sound DJ, or Pixelh8), and an output such as speakers or the “aux cord” and the cool kids are saying. The genre has been gaining traction the past few years, but software was first introduced all the way back in the late 90s for the Game Boy (even later for other tech). You can also make Chiptune or 8-Bit Music from all other sorts of vintage computers, and video game consoles if they have chip sets, and the right software. Didn’t mean to go ham on this post, but just like to let y’all know that making music with Game Boys is more than possible, and not totally made up! I’m just gonna add onto this with a neat little video that actually shows how it sounds live (if anyone is interested !!)Yay chiptunes! -- source link
