Howl’s Moving Castle concept art - Living Room in Howl’s Castle “The room only has one window so I first conceived a drawing where a single ray of light shined against a post in the dark room. I made the drawing just to convey the atmosphere, but its lighting was so dull it clashed too much with the characters. I still made the room dark for my concept art, but I cam up with color tones in conjunction with a lighting design and dusty setting that would enhance the characters” - Art Director, Yoji Takeshige -- source link
