studybowie: I’m an early bird: I like to wake up around 6 am, get ready, just taking my time and then start working. Even when I don’t have school, If I wake up after 8 am I feel like I’ve already wasted half of my day.I think waking up early is the key to a productive life so these are just a few tips to follow if you want to become a morning (and more productive) person don’t dine late You should always wait 2-3 hours after your last meal before going to sleep. I used to eat and then go to bed in 30mins-1hour… just changing this habit improved my sleep a lot!! plan + prep Before bed I always prepare my school/work stuff, food, clothes etc to avoid rushing in the morning. I also like to have a general idea of what I’ll do the next day. (Check the weather report as well!) get more BETTER sleep Following the sleep cycle theory is the best way to get a good night’s sleep! If you wake up at the end of a cycle, you’ll feel well-rested. On the other hand, if you “interrupt” a cycle you’ll feel tired no matter how many hours you’ve slept. Each cycle lasts about 90 mins and, on average, we need ~15 mins to fall asleep. There are tons of apps for this, too. I personally stick to sleepyti.me. know your sleeping habits It is important, however, to know how many hours of sleep you should get (according to your age) as well as the ACTUAL amount of sleep you need to feel rested… and that’s up to you, ‘cause we’re all different! For example, I sleep a lil less than I should for my age but it still works. drink water This aspect is SO underrated oh my god- if you wake up tired even after 9 hours of good sleep, it’s probably because you’re dehydrated! Drink a glass of water before going to sleep (it helps lowering your body temperature too)! speaking of temperature… It is thought that the best room temperature for sleep should be between 60-67°F (16-20°C) no light, no light Stay away from artificial light (computer, phone, tv etc) 15-30 mins before going to bed. I’m guilty here, since I always check my phone before sleeping… Turn off your electronics and do something else: take care of yourself, your skin, take a shower, have some chamomile, read a book, stretch&meditate… set your alarm I wake up almost every day 5-10 mins before my alarm: that’s because our bodies gradually get used to our routine (the so-called biological clock!) Anyway, to avoid sleeping in, I recommend you to set an alarm. Additional tips are changing the tune every week and putting your phone across your room. wake up To actually wake yourself up the first thing you wanna do is wash your face with cold water. Yes, even if it’s winter. Sorry, I don’t make the rules! (I like to do some yoga stretches too but it’s optional) get ready Have a shower, get ready, morning routine… do your thing! Remember to always take some time for yourself. Don’t rush it. Take your time. It’s the best part of the day. NEVER skip breakfast Please please please for the love of God you should always eat something within 1 hour after waking up. Drink plenty of water too!! Check out my feed your brain masterpost for more! plan your day out While having breakfast I write all the tasks I have to do in my planner (I watch the news and check my instagram too haha). If you don’t like planners I suggest you to write everything on a piece of paper you’ll eventually throw away. The key here is to free your mind from thoughts, problems and focusing on important things. Now gather up all your things and you’re ready to go! «Whatever you do, always give 100%.Unless you’re donating blood.» my masterposts don’t let it ruin your educationitalian masterpostfeed your brain my main blog ryokagirl -- source link
