dearestpj: Obligatory picture of the stairs at Powell’s City of Books, the “world’s largest independent new & used book store.” They are not kidding. This place is well organized, but there aren’t just shelves of genres in a few rows. There are entire ROOMS of book genres. And when I say rooms, I mean spaces bigger than most apartments I’ve lived in. Great selection of board books for my toddler in the Rose Room, a collection of rare books in the Pearl Room, and yes they have a print on demand book machine. Also, they have vegan pastries & rice, soy or almond milk in their coffee shop, and they’re right next to Whole Foods & Buffalo Exchange. You got me again, Portland! Can I just live & die here please? -- source link
