Meanwhile, Joanie’s twin brother Rhett had grown up to adult instead of haring off to university. David Ottomas similarly grew to adult with no campus detour, but the Ottomai are struggling a bit and it didn’t look like he’d be able to afford his own place any time soon, even though he was already working as a piano tuner. He and David dated a bit in high school, but at his birthday party he paid a lot more attention to a girl who’s at college with Joanie, and he keeps hitting on Priya Ramaswami (I think he’s thinking he’d better get somebody experienced for his first time and you can be pretty sure a married lover isn’t as virgin as you are.), so I wasn’t going to do anything about it for awhile. That sort of thing complicates a roommate arrangement and it’ll be awhile before they can afford anti-jealousy potions. But then Rhett picked up David’s guitar - and, wow. Something about the animation and Rhett’s look and figure and outfit - I dunno, going about his normal occasions he can appear a bit sleazy but when he plays guitar that boy is hot.And David noticed. It’s his guitar and he wanted to play it, but after he cleaned up his plate at dinner he just stood behind Rhett grinning for awhile, then tipped him, then went and sat down and listened, staring at him and clapping till Rhett wore himself out and went to bed. -- source link
