#Your2020Portrait | To celebrate the Class of 2020, we’re teaming up with Instagram to host an online portrait exhibition. We’re asking graduates to create portraits—in any medium, including drawing, photography, painting, collage, or installation images—to help them mark this moment. Our show, featuring five works by high school or college students in the U.S., will be curated by the critic and writer Antwaun Sargent and a team of judges: Chella Man, Chloe Wise, and Quil Lemons. Selected works will be showcased on @design, @creators and @brooklynmuseum, and each of the 5 featured artists will receive $5,000 grants from Instagram. Click here to submit your work before May 5, 11:49 pm!We’ve long been dedicated to programming that activates and empowers teens. For 21 years, we’ve supported teens with paid internships and teen-led programming. BKM Teens have learned from artists, educators, and curators; taught thousands of visitors in our galleries; produced public programs for NYC youth; and cultivated intentional space for discussions on feminist and LGBTQ+ art, identity and politics, and creative expression. @brooklynmuseum and the @bkmteens are excited to partner with @Instagram to highlight the creativity of students across the country and give them visibility during this critical time.: @quillemons, 2017 -- source link
