celticartistwarrioress:mysharona1987:conservativepittsburgher:mysharona1987:conservativepittsburgher:mysharona1987:conservativepittsburgher:mysharona1987:This will end well, obviously.Oh no! Children can use handguns while under adult supervision! The absolute horror!!Gee, the last time a child used a gun under adult supervision sure worked out great for everyone else involved:“the last time a child used a gun under adult supervision” because that was totally the last time it happened.I’m not saying America’s right wing has gone absolutely crazy but “let’s not give little kids firearms” shouldn’t really be a controversial opinion.I thought that was just common sense. Children and guns do not mix. This isn’t about giving kids guns. This is about allowing kids to shoot while being supervised. Which is explicitly stated in the bill. But I mean sure, guess all the millions of kids who have grown up hunting and target shooting are the exception and you know what’s best for everyone.Tell that to the 9 year old who is traumatized for life due to her being surrounded by idiotic adults who didn’t realize: “Um, maybe we shouldn’t give a little girl a semi-automatic weapon?” (What she has to live with from now on, though.)Like, I get the gun culture thing. I really do. But, obviously, keep them away from guns until they’re old enough to handle them and understand the consequences.Christ, they’re kids. They’re easily amused. Just take them swimming or to baseball instead or whatever. Plus, the whole “allow kids to learn to hunt thing” is all well and good… but we are talking about HAND GUNS here. That has jack shit to do w/ hunting. -- source link
