kvetchlandia:Art Kane A Great Day in Harlem, New York City 1958No one knows exactly how he accomplished this, but Art Kane managed to get many of the most significant, most influential jazz musicians of his era together for this photo. He didn’t have a cell phone, social media, or even access to everyone’s agent, yet somehow he managed to gather them together and to get these musicians out on a sunny New York morning-quite a feat considering how phobic of daylight many jazz musicians were. Just to make this image even more cool, this was Art Kane’s first job as a professional photographer.
