Time for another edition of #CollectionSaturdays! I wanted to share this item’s story because without the story it doesn’t look like much and would probably go unnoticed. A group of Buddhist monks made a sand mandala in my hometown, and when it was finished and they swept away all their hard work, they let visitors take some of the sand afterwards. I was probably no more than 12 years old at the time but i’ve kept this all these years in the first curio cabinet that I had as a kid, up through this one.
