pandasteakburger: The two wonderfully symmetrical tenament buildings used for the cover art of Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti (1975) double album, located at 96 and 98 St. Mark’s Place in New York City. I was definitely not the only one who has tracked down this location just to get this particular image. It’s actually a difficult shot to take without getting ample amounts of wide angle lens distortion, unless you’re taking it from the third floor of the opposite building across the street. I wasn’t into the idea of climbing on the fire escapes (or knocking on doors for a permission to shoot from someone’s window), so I had to fix the distortion later in Photoshop. I had my cheaper ‘stunt camera’ with me that day, so the resolution here isn’t exactly mind-boggling. Photo: Copyright © Jani Markus Miikkulainen. All Rights Reserved. -- source link
