#Repost @strongerthanpots (@get_repost)・・・THIS. When I first created this account I actually got a LOT of messages from concerned husbands and boyfriends about how helpless they felt about their girlfriend’s/wife’s chronic illness but also how unappreciated they felt because their potsie partner was taking out their anger on them. I so appreciated their vulnerability in sharing this with me and it’s something that has stuck with me. We don’t get to use our chronic illness as an excuse for treating people poorly. It may be more difficult for us to control our emotions because of our symptoms, but that’s our own cross we have to bear. When I first got sick I took it out on my mom @wendyroberts_author and ex a lot, and honestly, I don’t think I could’ve done it differently. I was new to it all and the anger and grief associated with being in constant agony WAS too much. Thankfully they were super gracious but also set boundaries with me. I now have learned that God calls me to be loving just as much as He calls a healthy person to be loving and He knows how hard that can be for us sometimes. He didn’t say it would be easy. Thankfully I’ve gotten better at this over time. But if you’re reading this right now, to tell your support system how much they mean to you. -- source link
