madeinthenude: Reflections. Being nude means seeing ourselves as we are. They are not reflections of who we are. Many people confuse this with personality and character. They see clothing as a means of displaying our inner person. The type of person we are or want to be. Instead of looking inward and seeing themselves, they are looking outward at the reflection of clothing. This doesn’t mean there isn’t value in clothing. A lot can be understood by they way people adorn and costume themselves. We usually get a sense of their hopes and dreams. What they want to be or have been. When people are nude, the source for character and personality comes from inside instead of the outside. Because of this, it’s usually an honest display and different from when they are wearing clothes. The costume is off and there are no more cues. We appear as we are. No more or less. This is why nudity is necessary. It’s provides a grounding in who we are. It takes us away from the influence of society and of clothing. It allows us to reconnect with our pure selves and see each other as we are. Nudity isn’t a reflection. It’s source. Text by Made in the Nude.
