co_missionFrom my journal: I retreated to the tent for a moment, to regain my thoughts. This was unlike I had thought it would be, better for sure, but very unexpected. I was in a far away world with some new and incredible friends. Friends that wouldn’t judge or consider any aspect of this week out of turn, and a dozen thousand strangers that were to be nothing to me but fresh encounters and new friends. So I took my cloths off and left the tent towards the center of the festival. Its kinda amazing how normal it felt after I left the tent behind. I hadn’t even cleared the boarder of the market area when I saw what I was sure to enjoy: Holy Fest and the colors and dancing of hundreds of people. So I dove right in, with nothing but my camera and my child like glee. The single item I had with me was my camera and thank god because I really needed to capture this dream. It was a dream to be sure. I felt on a high no drugs can create, and with my grin and my camera I left the center covered in pink and yellow chalk powder and made my way down towards the “beach”. It is not really a beach since we are several hundred miles from the coast, but the river is wide enough and offers the sandy coast, the cool water, and an incredible mud bath, furiously steamy hot sauna, and even showers and hot tubs if I wanted. It gave me a sense of clean more than skin deep, and I even managed to photograph one handed the joys of the mud bath. Of course what would my new unabashed rebirth be without running into the only people I knew in the country, they fully clothed, and me lathered in mud and not much else. They welcomed me with open arms, or at least an elbow bump and smiles of encouragement. So I bathed and joined them in returning to some workshops.I was prepped by @sayacheeks on what she could describe but still unprepared for all this festival was. I had moments of doubt as I tried new things but with friends at my back that cared about me and believed and encouraged me it was only natural.#gratitude is a permanent sensation, like the ground I walk on and it’s coming straight from my friends around the world. -- source link
