This is only a small thing but it really made me proud, I was buying paninis and I suddenly theorised that panini meant ‘little bread’ in Italian, thinking about it more I also guessed that the word was plural, later I looked it up to see if I was correct and I was, it really made me confident that I could study linguistics in uni because it made me aware that I was beginning to be able to put my knowledge of languages together and use them in a day to day situation. -- source link
