thelethifoldwitch: There’s a place where all the lost things go. You know, those little things you misplace and can never find again. Phones slipped out of pockets. Socks forever lost in transit the laundry. Pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks, hairclips. Everything. (And no, they’re not being sold secondhand by an intergalactic scamster.) Because if you went into the vaults at the Department of Mysteries - the ones they don’t put behind obviously mysterious black doors - you might find some very interesting things. Lost things. You might even find a wizard puzzling over the biro you lost not quite last week, muttering at it and demanding it reveal its secrets. Muggles, after all, are so interesting. (Sometimes their interest can get a bit out of hand, resulting in quite the diplomatic brouhaha.) There are those who hide behind this façade of unawareness. Merlin, can the muggles really do that? And you’d be hard put to know that they say this, not in earnestness, but are quietly filing things away. No one knows why. But they are always filing, always learning, always watching. (This is why they have a room hidden away, just for this. Nobody watches them while they watch.) Muggles are so interesting, after all. Such interesting playthings. — (Image Source) (Submitted by thepostmodernpottercompendium which is a wonderful place to go to if you like trying to reason out the mad mad world of the potterverse) -- source link
