morgansea: Tranzister Radio album covers. Our show talks about a lot of different trans issues and its sort of hard to encapsulate it all in an image with out falling back on the traditional trans symbols and trans pride flag colors that honestly feel a bit nationalistic and pretty removed from the people making our show. So I’ve been trying to play around with these symbols and making them our own in sorta silly ways. I still giggle about the first one, which is like the trans feminist symbol made into a turkey, for last years Trangst-Giving Special. The second is from episode 10, where Jess Latty (top right) was talking about how certain electrical parts are gendered male/female based on like in/out (cis-sexist genital metaphors), so I added some of those parts to the traditional trans symbol, as well as some loose non-binary wires. The 3rd is from episode 15, in september. We talk a bit about Trans women in the military, so I wanted to make a trans peace symbol… and then i thought, that’s pretty cheesy, and eventually it became an homage to Lisa Frank binder covers… so back to school theme. The 4th is from this month, where I joke about holding leaves accountable to cis binary standards, “Green or Red, pick a colour!” It’s silly, but yeah, leaves are pretty punk.
