amnhnyc: The blue sea slug, or the blue glaucus, is full of surprises. It floats upside down, and its brilliant blue coloring is reserved for its underside, to confuse flying predators from above. It’s also a fierce predator in its own right: it preys on the highly poisonous Portuguese Man-O’-War hydrozoans. And not only is the blue sea slug immune to the Man-O’-War’s terrifying sting, but it actually stores its prey’s poison in the 80+ finger-like appendages on its body.
