If Muslims wanna take their hijab off a lot of the time it’s cuz they’re trying to escape islamophobia not islam This needs to spread so far and wide… Spread this. please. true true. alot of people think Islam is a very oppressive and strict religion when in reality it it very leniet and simply teaches a way of life. When Trump banned Muslims, many Muslims considered shaving their beards and women thought about taking off their hijab. and when France banned niqabs, ignorant men were like “no women have to wear it” but ive read the Quran multiple times and it actually says that if your life is in danger then you have the permission to do those things. and the Quran even says that if you are starving and the only meat available is Pork, then you are allowed to eat it to save urself. It also says that if people from another religion force you to denouce your religion by threating to kill you then you are allowed to do so, if it means saving ur life. Islam isnt uptight and oprresive like yall think. Its a guide on how to live life the easiest way In all my years living in Europe I have not encountered a single Muslim man who doesn’t respect womenWhat I encounter instead are Christian or Christian raised atheist white men constantly accusing Muslim men of oppressing their community’s women and then the next moment those same Christian white men will go on making misogynist jokesI see more often men with West Asian names on German Facebook calling misogyny out than I see men with German names doing so, in fact it is the ones with German names who will usually post misogynistic content To be fair, this could be easily falsified. Anyone could played out utopic father-daugther relationship dinamic. I’m not saying many muslim fathers don’t support their daugthers in whatever they decide. I’m sure many do. But that’s not always the case. In most of the cases is actually not the girl’s desition. Most of the times is forced to some degree. What I’m saying is that this screenshot can’t be taken as proof of anyhing to espicificaly support Islam otr Hijab. I’ve met many muslim families few years ago, mainly Syrian refugees. And this ideal dinamic is not the average as far as I’ve personally seen.I will never support any religion in particular or practice stablished by them. What I support, though is people. If a girl as an individual wants to wear her hijab, I’m all by her side. But these campains pro hijab are a NOPE Have you actually read the posts above? Those “campaigns pro hijab” are against the criminalization of wearing the hijab, so that religious women are allowed to choose if they want to wear one or notI’m an atheist myself but I don’t go around saying “I will never support any religion in particular or practice established by them” as religion is important to people as it connects them to their roots and cultures yes, I see know that bringing awareness on the fact that SOMETIMES the use of hijab is a choice prevents discrimination. But what about all those other girls for whom the hijab is not a choice? having to see this new rebranding of the hijab as being all about choice, culture and embracing your origins and even a matter of feminism some dare to say;won’t help them. It’s not always like that. The awareness have to come from both sides.again, I support people, but not religion. In other words, that I don’t support religion doesn’t mean I discriminate people who have those beliefs. This is an important diference that people don’t seem to understand. People having their own different beliefs get all the respect, but religion itself gets none from me. And this seem to be the taboo part. Atheists are constatly told to ¨respect other’s beliefs¨ but are religious people ever told to respect atheist? hum..very rarely. Kind of the opposite most of the times.people have rights, ideologies and beliefs don’t -- source link
