Just wanna give a shoutout to myself for being such a winner. I know a lot of people didn’t know the extent of my alcoholism until I quit. The outpouring of support I received was not only appreciated, it was needed. There are too many people to actually name everyone. But specifically, I wouldn’t be where I am today, 6 months sober on the first of May, if it weren’t for my mom, my sisters, my dad who I wish so badly was here to see this, and my best friends who despite watching me fail again and again stuck by me through even the worst times. I am so blessed to have realized my addiction so early. Sober at 25 is surreal in itself simply because usually people my age are going to bars and most people are able to keep it responsible. But here I am, halfway to my license as a cosmetologist, sober, and despite the quarantine and the bizarre things that have happened this year, I am happy. And thriving. And so proud. Thanks for reading if you did. Don’t be afraid to do the thing you want to do!
