I play Hafgrim as a Zealot Barbarian, and this man has come back from the brink of death more times than anyone else in our party.Sea hags instakilled Hafgrim when he failed a charisma save. Not once. Not twice. THREE TIMES!!! In one combat session!!! Or so they thought! That man fucking SURVIVED!!! Death saves? What purpose do those serve to an angry Viking who wants his fucking vengeance on those hags? He outright followed one underwater and stabbed it to death before taking all its loot, then returning to the surface.A dragon threatened to kill the tiny Kobold Hafgrim loves? He jumped in the way of its fire, sacrificed himself to save Sperrgg, and still lived. Once again, fuck death saving throws. His baby is in danger. (Note, Hafgrim finished off by surviving with 2 HP then dramatically Skyrim smashing his greataxe into the dragon’s head to kill it.)Hafgrim fought a flying devil which continuously got out of his range until he couldn’t fight and simply “died” by taking hits from it. Until he didn’t. Hafgrim REFUSED. Scaling the damn statues, he hit that thing several times over, and killed it. Because why not??It’s been 2 years of irl time, playing this campaign once a week, and Hafgrim is still alive. I have no idea how. But rage is a powerful motive, I guess?? -- source link
